As you may know, I live in the Joplin area. After our tornado last year, we actually got more donations than we could actually distribute, so instead of taking the full semi truck back to California, a church group left their donations at our church. Well, I DID need some new pants and didn’t have the money for them, and we did need some new flashlights around the house & cars, so yeah, I felt like I qualified enough to pick some things up(although nobody needed to be qualified, there was plenty for everybody in our church). The pallets of bottled water stayed there for weeks.  My grandma also benefited from those donated items. The amount of donations sent to Joplin was truly astounding and we all really appreciate the assistance people have sent in, even if it was more than we could distribute.

Ook Island, however, is the size of 4-9 city blocks & is built with future technology. Plus, it was evacuated easily, since there are no roads to clog up. They’ll be turning down a lot more donations. It probably doesn’t help, either, (or helps too much) that some people think Ook Island and Dook Island are two different islands.

The year is 2132

Kenny: Hey, Fuego!
We have some clothes to replace what blew away with your house.

Fuego: Oh, you don’t have to buy my clothes for me.

Kenny: Actually, these are donations from other countries. They do this sort of stuff after nature wakes up with a hernia and focuses that displeasure on us low-lifes.

Fuego: Wasn’t I the only one to lose any clothes in the hurricane? This is a lot!

(One box says “To Ook Island” & the other says “To Dook Island”)

Kenny: That just means you get first pick! Want some pink underwear?
