ETA for Thursday’s comic: 2pm CST
I had a busy day today, and I stand a very good chance of waking up around 6am like I did last morning, and that sounds enticing to me. I’m actually going to sleep tonight & work on the comic in the morning instead of torturing my sleep schedule with “I’d rather be sleeping” cartooning time. Maybe my sleep schedule can normalize itself as a result.
I hate to post late comics, but I hate my irregular sleep schedule even more. After all, I woke up at a normal time today an it wound up being a productive day. Let’s see if I can duplicate that. :)
I don’n know how other people read yor comic, if they visit the page exactly the day of publication or some way else. I read this vía rss so I don’t worry about when you publish it and if this is half hour, a day or a week late. I tell you that like a feedback, so you can take a choose with more information. There are several cartoonist that publish frecuently unnesesary apologies about a lated comic. In the other hand, are nedroid.com thar openly says he don’t going to publish nothing until he think in something funny. I had not realized about his desition. I apreciate the discipline of fix a day to publish, to myself it works to be constant publishing, but for the public I think is unnesesary. Sorry for the mispelling, I don’t speak english. bye :D
I agree that these notes aren't as good on rss feeds. I read all of my favorite comics via rss, and I often read posts like this days later after the comic is already up. I've wanted to design an alternative notification that only shows on the website, but I didn't want to take time away from the comic to design that. However, now that you mention this, an easy design has come to mind, and I've just now created a widget that will replace these "It'll be late" blog posts. It'll show up at the top of the page(where it should be, anyway) whenever the comic will be late, and not appear in the rss feed or emails.
Enough people visit the website directly that I feel like a note should be visible, which is why I've been making the blog posts. I do have the Twitter widget at the side, but I don't expect people to look there for information on how late the comic will be. The late notices are specifically for people who are visiting the website directly, and now they're the ONLY people who will see the notes.
Thanks for letting me know that I needed to increase priority on that change.
